Dock Leveler Weather Seals
Sealing around your dock levelers is a great way to reduce energy costs and keep unwanted elements and pests outside where they belong.Loading dock areas present a great opportunity to seal around the many openings of a building. Not only do improperly sealed doors allow areas of air infiltration, dock levelers themselves can act as wind tunnels robbing a building of its' heat resources.Even when the door is closed, the space under a dock leveler is open. If the sides and back of the dock leveler are not sealed, rodents, insects, and air can easily enter the plant.
Our specially designed brush dock seals will seal a dock leveler virtually air tight. When the bottom of the shipping door over the leveler is sealed as well, the loading dock seals keep the whole dock leveler sealed tight.Dock weather seal reduce your heating and cooling costs, and in many cases, will pay for themselves in a few months. Our dock leveler and loading dock door weather seal products are specially designed to close all the gaps on all your dock doors.

Dock levelers need a 1 to 1" to 1-1/4" gap between the concrete and the leveler in order to work correctly. A standard Dock Leveler 6' x 6' with a 1-1/8" gap is equivalent to a hole measuring 243" square inches. Left unsealed a dock leveler will cause large quantities of air infiltration and exfiltration within your building, creating an unnecessary increase in utility expenses and reducing the comfort of your working environments.
The gaps also allow in dust, dirt and pests that are attracted by the heat and light of your building's interior. Air leakage problems are also compounded by what is commonly known as the "chimney" or "stack" effect. Hot air rises and escapes through openings near the top of the building, while cold air is drawn in through dock levelers openings door gaps and near the bottom of the building. Depending on temperatures, air movement caused by the chimney effect can move up to 10 mph.Type 6 nylon brush seals are recommended for food processing and handling facilities. They are U.L. Rated as "Gasketing Material for Fire Doors" [viable from 100 degrees F to 350 degrees F ].

One of the most vulnerable areas in any plant is the Dock leveler. This is because when the plant is closed, the space under the Dock leveler is open. If the sides and bottom of the dock leveler are not sealed, rodents, insects, and air can easily enter the plant. Our specially designed brushes will seal the dock leveler virtually air tight. The brush seals against air, dust, and pests that can easily infiltrate the gaps around dock levelers.
The nylon brush dock leveler seals, keeping temperatures constant, and the weather stripping provides an extremely effective way of preventing heat and cold air leaking in and out of the dock, as well as providing a non-chemical pest and dust control around dock levelers.
