High Volume Low speed [H.V.L S] Fans is a large ceiling fan that moves a High Volume of air at a low speed. The low speed delivers gentle air movement rather than disruptive wind, and circulating a high volume of air effectively distributes airflow over a large area. The first thing to realize is that high volume, low speed warehouse fans are air movement systems, not just cooling systems. They move and mix lots of air, and they do it very efficiently. As a result of the masses of air they move they are very effective in aiding cooling, heating and ventilation.

Warehouse and industrial facilities, to keep temperatures consistent from floor to ceiling The basic principles behind High Volume Low Speed fans are not new. Today, engineers have combined the physics of slow moving air with principles of aerodynamics to create an efficient, economical solution for large spaces . High Volume Low Speed (H.V.L.S) fan series is designed to provide facilities with an energy efficient and cost effective cooling and heating solution. High Volume Low Speed fans move large volumes of air at low speeds over very large areas.

The fan blades produce a massive column of air that flows down to the floor and outward in all directions, creating a deep "horizontal floor jet" that ultimately circulates air up vertically and gets drawn back through the top of the fan. Warm air rises. During the winter heating season, the fans force warm air down from the ceiling to floor level, promoting improving temperature uniformity within the building and reducing heating costs. In warm months, the fans create a gentle breeze (2-3 mph). In addition to improving employ comfort, the air currents created by the industrial ceiling fans promote evaporation, minimizing condensation and moisture build-up on floors, humidity sensitive products, packaging and other surfaces. In cooler months, the H.V.L.S fan operates in reverse, circulating hot air trapped at ceiling level and creating a warmer and consistent mix of air throughout the facility In summer months, high volume low speed (H.V.L.S) fans alone can reduce effective cooling by 8 degrees.

Used in conjunction with an A/C system, their slow steady air flow can reduce and even eliminate the need for efficiency reducing A/C duct work. In colder months, High Volume Low Speed (H.V.L.S) fans allow for a more even distribution of heat. Improved ventilation created by our fans reduces spoilage from moisture pockets or humidity. Quiet operation won't interfere with communication. Colored fan blades are available to match any color scheme and make a statement in your facility. (HVLS) fans can make your environment more comfortable, your employees more productive, and reduce your operating costs and overhead. This in turn can reduce moisture related slip hazards in humid environments and contribute to maintaining fresh and dry product in food handling environments. The motor used is a Variable Frequency Drive [V.F.D] Technology to provide full variable speed control available in various size and color, and state of the art helical gear system for long lasting.

HVLS Fan Vs High speed Fan

The main advantage of an HVLS fan is its energy efficiency. One 20 foot fan typically moves approximately 125,000 cfm of air. It takes six to seven standard fans to provide similar air volume. Most HVLS fans have a 1 HP motor, moving the same volume of air for approximately one third of the energy cost of six high speed fans. High speed fans are good for managing extreme heat, although they can cause your energy bills to increase significantly in the summer. Smaller, more powerful motor.

HVLS fan Advantage

Productivity increases

HVLS (high volume, low speed) fans result in productivity increases [productivity is doing more with fewer resources which is a green concept], especially with a comfortable and healthy work/living environment. Their gentle airflow concept helps keep workers noticeably more comfortable. They are also very quiet systems, as opposed to the noise of multiple floor fans.

Energy cost reductions

Because they operate at low speeds, HVLS fans use a fraction of the power of conventional fans. They're powered by about what it takes to run three light bulbs. A larger air mass has much less surface area to move and therefore less surface friction, further reducing energy needed to move the air. With large masses, once the initial inertia is overcome in air movement, the air jet created creates its own momentum that needs very little energy to keep it going. High volume low speed fans replace many other air movement solutions that would often use a lot of power and energy to be effective. They reduce heating and cooling costs in facilities that use those systems, and create comfort on their own in facilities that don't.

Return on Investment [ R.O.I ]

HVLS fans pay for themselves quickly. Absent these fans people are spending the money they should be using to buy them. They get more air to more places, more effectively and economically.

  • Fewer blades for less stress inducing torque
  • Slower velocity for far reaching airflow
  • Lower install, operation and maintenance costs

Fan sizes and quantities?

A 100,000 square foot distribution center or manufacturing facility with a typical layout of racking and equipment can require five to ten fans to enjoy the optimal benefits of HVLS fan systems. The key factors are location, height, size, and density of airflow obstructions. For size selection, bigger is usually better for large areas. Size options allow for custom solutions to unique location challenges. Ceiling heights are ideally more than fifteen feet. Clearance needed above the fans should be at least three to five feet for best airflow; nominal clearances of blades from nearby equipment and structures are recommended.

High volume, low speed industrial fans, in sizes and different colors, sizes from 8 feet to 24 feet in diameter cost pennies per hour to operate and can pay for themselves in as little as six months.
